Privacy Policy
Last updated: 31 May 2026
This policy explains what personal data Sensin processes when you visit sensin.io or contact us, why, on what legal basis, and the rights you have under the EU General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR) and Belgian data protection law.
1. Who is responsible
The data controller for sensin.io is:
Sensin is a one-person consultancy. There is no statutory obligation to appoint a Data Protection Officer; for any privacy question, contact us at the email above.
2. What data we process
This is a static informational website. It has no contact form, no account system, no advertising, and no analytics. We process personal data in only two situations:
Server access logs
Like virtually every web server, our hosting infrastructure automatically records technical information each time a page or asset is requested. This typically includes your IP address, the date and time of the request, the page or file requested, the HTTP status, your browser type and version (user agent), and the referring page. These logs are used to operate the site securely and reliably (for example, to diagnose faults and detect abuse). We do not use them to identify you or to build a profile.
Email correspondence
If you email hello@sensin.io, we process the data you choose to send — your name, email address, and the content of your message — so we can read and reply to it.
3. Purposes and legal bases
We process personal data on the following legal bases under Article 6(1) GDPR:
- Operating and securing the website (server logs) — our legitimate interest in keeping the site available, performant, and protected against misuse (Art. 6(1)(f)).
- Responding to your enquiries (email) — our legitimate interest in answering people who contact us and, where relevant, taking steps at your request prior to entering into a contract (Art. 6(1)(f) / Art. 6(1)(b)).
We do not use your data for automated decision-making or profiling, and we do not sell personal data.
4. Cookies and tracking
This website does not use cookies and sets no tracking, advertising, or analytics technologies. Fonts are served from our own server rather than a third-party content delivery network, so no data is shared with external font providers. Because no non-essential cookies or trackers are used, no consent banner is required. See our Cookie Statement for detail.
5. Who we share data with
We do not share your personal data with third parties for their own purposes. The website is self-hosted by Sensin BV on its own infrastructure in Belgium, so hosting does not involve a third party. We rely on one external service provider (processor), acting only on our instructions:
- Email provider — Microsoft 365 (Microsoft Ireland Operations Ltd.), which handles correspondence sent to our address.
We may also disclose data where required by law or to establish, exercise, or defend legal claims.
6. International transfers
The website is hosted in Belgium, so normal use of the site involves no transfer of your data outside the European Economic Area. Email is handled through Microsoft 365; where Microsoft processes data outside the EEA, that transfer is covered by appropriate safeguards — the European Commission's Standard Contractual Clauses and the EU–US Data Privacy Framework.
7. How long we keep it
- Server logs — retained for at most 30 days and then automatically deleted by scheduled log rotation.
- Email — kept for as long as needed to handle your enquiry and any follow-up, and thereafter only where we have a legitimate or legal reason to retain it.
8. Your rights
Under the GDPR you have the right to:
- request access to the personal data we hold about you (Art. 15);
- have inaccurate data rectified (Art. 16);
- have your data erased in certain circumstances (Art. 17);
- restrict or object to processing based on legitimate interests (Art. 18 and 21);
- receive certain data in a portable format (portability, Art. 20).
To exercise any of these rights, email hello@sensin.io. We will respond within one month. Exercising your rights is free of charge unless a request is manifestly unfounded or excessive.
9. Complaints
If you believe we have not handled your personal data correctly, we would like the chance to put it right — please contact us first. You also have the right to lodge a complaint with the Belgian supervisory authority:
10. Changes to this policy
We may update this policy from time to time. The current version is always published here with its “last updated” date at the top of the page.
